BIO

EDDIE BLACK was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Eddie's background has been with music and entertainment. His music is a blend of alternative rock, pop, dance and techno. He started at an early age with guitar and bass. Eddie writes to lift others and inspire them to be better. It's not who you are but what you can do for others. He recorded his first album “18 Years After,” in 2003 and has been writing ever since. The songs have a story all their own. His latest adventure is a blend of energizing music with techno that makes you feel that you want to get up and dance. Also for 2009 Eddie's goal is to continue working with his rock/alternative project, "Atomic Aura". This is an optimistic group with passion and dedication to their music. Atomic Aura is fronted with a female vocalist singing powerful and emotional lyrics. The band has this energizing music that you will enjoy listening too with catchy melodies, driving bass, guitar riffs and a pounding beat that will keep you rockin'! This band has played one of Calgary's largest Clubs, "Cowboys". On April 12th, 2008 the band passed an audition with a local Calgary Radio "Station 98.5 FM for a $ 100,000 Star Search Contest. The band made it to the semi-finals and the judge's reviews were very high, including a representative from Universal Music. Since the beginning, there have been some changes in the band's line up for 2009 including new singer and bassist. Eddie will be soon promoting and preparing a trip for the summer 2009 to Vancouver, B.C. and to L.A., California, USA. The band is looking to showcase there and what an optimistic adventure it will be…

In 2001 Eddie was hired to create instrumental music for the purpose of intros on audio books for Aurora Publishing.

Eddie currently spends a majority of his time involved in his music, writing and as a working musician. Eddie also is involved in his community as a music coach for guitar and bass lessons for youth and is also working helping out other artist and bands promoting and locating gigs.

Eddie's talent as a songwriter and musician is evident. Eddie has worked with many artists and bands such as; Mary-Kate Aquino, Diego Saa, Kelly Miller, Debra Ainsworth, Joelle, Stanger at the Gate, Darren Gilbert from Subtektx, JMK, Erko Nomm from Throttlecaster, Heading West and Basic Black.

Eddie has organized events for fundraising to help the Children's Miracle Network and he also has donated several hundred wrapped CD's for people who are stuck in the hospitals in Alberta over the Christmas season to cheer them up. Eddie believes that by sharing his music with those who need it most is truly a privilege for him to offer and the opportunity to lift someone up and brighten their day.
